Young People’s Performing Arts Concert – introducing Progress Youth Theatre

We’re so pleased to introduce another of our incredible acts for our concert on the 3rd March – Progress  Youth Theatre!

Members of  Progress Theatre’s Youth theatre will be performing a piece from Family Business; a series of vignettes depicting a child’s view of difficult times in a family life. It is introduced as a Powerpoint presentation. Each scene uses symbolism to represent how the family is experienced by the child.

Originally devised by the PYT ‘Strobes’ Group and written by Ali & Liz Carroll, Family Business has been re-worked by this innovative and talented group, who are a combination of students from the ‘Floodlights’ and ‘Blinders’ Groups.

Liz Carroll of PYT says: “Progress Youth Theatre offers weekly workshops for children and young people aged 7 – 18 in 4 groups which enable the students to explore theatre and performance skills. Members of the groups also have the opportunity to come together as a Company 3 times a year (once in conjunction with adults the Main Theatre) to create performances to be shown as part of our Main Season (a varied, challenging and diverse programme ranging through all genres)”.
