Be a No5 Secret Santa this Christmas

Secret_Santa

Last year No5 supported over 1,500 young people and their families through free, confidential counselling and outreach work, and as demand for this service is ever increasing we have several ways you can do a little or more this Christmas to make a difference to young people next year. From an online vote through to online donations, there’s something for everyone and you don’t even need to spend more than you would normally!

Here’s our top four No5 Christmas Cheers:

  1. Reading Santa Run, on 8 December teaming up with Shoosmiths LLP staff. No5 staff, Young Ambassadors and volunteers are running this wintry 5K dressed up as Santa. Please come along on the day and cheer us on as we brave the cold and give what you can to fund free support and counselling for young people in Reading and the local community. You can donate here via our team JustGiving page.
  2. Don’t worry about the 12th December, vote for us! Yes, it really is that simple, nominate No5 Young People (charity no. 1171313) in Ecclesiastical’s Movement for Good, 12 Days of Christmas. They will be donating £1,000 to 120 charities over 12 days during the run-up to Christmas. Draws will take place each weekday from 5 – 20 December 2019. Nominations will remain open until midnight the day before each draw. The more nominations No5 receives the greater the chance of us winning! So please nominate us online here. Then encourage your friends, family, colleagues and anyone else you can think of to do the same!
  3. Christmas online shopping is all about giving! Sign up free to Give as You Live, and choose No5. Join for free and start raising when you shop at over 4,300 stores. Click on a store you want to shop with and you’ll be directed to the store’s website where you can continue to shop as normal. Your purchase will automatically generate free funds for No5! From holidays and travel to clothing and gifts, you can raise hundreds of pounds from all your online Christmas purchases. Here’s a video we’ve put together which explains how it works. Of course, giving isn’t just for Christmas and you could continue into 2020 and be a No5 Giving Heroe!
  4. Get those toes tapping at Reading Station. If you enjoy jazz make sure you are at the station entrance on Friday 13th December, 4.30-7pm for live jazz from Teddy’s Jazzmen. Then on Friday 20th December from 4.30pm to 7pm you will be able to listen to two choirs from The Bulmershe School, Woodley – The Bulmershe Singers (Lower School students) and The Bulmershe Ensemble (KS4 and 5 students). All bringing some Christmas magic to your day.

Thank you for all you do, every little really will help!
