This week is Mental Health Awareness Week with the theme of Nature. Throughout the week we will be sharing why Mental Health Awareness Week is important and ways you can get involved! This kicks off with an introduction to the week and one way you get involved with our #MakeitforMay campaign too!

 

This year, The Mental Health Foundation are asking people to connect with nature due to the positive impact they noticed it has had on people’s mental health during the pandemic. Find out more about their campaign here. Our Young Ambassadors will be sharing their connections of mental health and nature later this week!

 

Getting out in nature can be as easy as taking a walk around the block, having a picnic in a local green space, or growing a plant on your windowsill! During the last year, everyone has spent a lot of time in front of their screens and stuck within the same walls of our home, so taking a moment to embrace nature is a welcomed break in our daily routine. The Mental Health Foundation has even created this Nature Journal so you can capture your experience and any improvements it has on your mental health.

 

Throughout the month of May, our Young Ambassadors have been running their #MakeitforMay campaign inspiring your creativity through daily prompts and weekly themes! This week has the theme of technology, so why not take some of this week’s prompts out into nature and capture your experience? You could do this through photography, videography or even a blog post. For even more inspiration, check out Jemma’s blog on pebble painting as part of last week’s #MakeitforMay which involves painting and hiding pebbles for others to discover! Don’t forget to share your creations with the hashtag #MakeitforMay!
