Volunteers Week 2021

This week the nation has been celebrating and thanking everyone who volunteers across the UK. At No5, our volunteers are central to everything we do for young people’s mental health in Reading, from our volunteer counsellors to our Young Ambassadors, their dedication really makes a difference.

We wanted to take this time today to highlight the work our volunteers do, to thank them, and give them a space to voice their experience as a volunteer for No5!

Queens Award

This week has been extra exciting for us and our volunteers as their dedication and commitment has been recognised and we have received the Queens Award for Voluntary Service! You can find our congratulatory video to them here and join us in thanking them over on our social media pages!

We would like to once again to take this time to say a thank you to all the volunteers who have been a part of the No5 family, past and present, you really are vital to the services we provide for young people and their mental health in Reading. Without YOU this would not be possible!

Volunteer Voices

Today is ‘Volunteer Voices Day’ in #VolunteersWeek and so we sent out a message asking our volunteers if they wanted to voice their experience of volunteering at No5 – here is what they had to say:

“My time with No5 has truly changed me. Not only did it help me grow as a person emotionally, gaining confidence and learning more about myself and my mental health, but it also gave me more experience of valuable skills like time management, presentation, blog writing among others. I have a much deeper understanding of mental health and a new appreciation for the voluntary sector. I can’t imagine how much good is brought into this world from thousands of volunteers across this country. No5 has been my favourite place to volunteer so far, everyone is friendly, lovely, and very helpful. I’m loving my time as a No5 volunteer.” Angie – Young Ambassador
