Volunteers Week 2022

This week the nation will be celebrating and thanking everyone who volunteers across the UK. At No5, our volunteers are central to everything we do for young people’s mental health in Reading, from our volunteer counsellors to our Young Ambassadors, their dedication really makes a difference.

Thank You

We would like to take this time to say a huge heartfelt thank you to our volunteer counsellors who dedicate so much time into providing much needed hours of support to local young people. This also includes our volunteers who give a helping hand on reception and give those entering the No5 building a warm welcoming!

We would also like to extend our thanks to our Young Ambassadors for continuing to share their incredible peer support through the content they create, feedback on our service and ways of working, and the amazing fundraising challenges they have taken on!

Queens Award

Today is also a good time to reflect upon last year, where during volunteers week we received The Queens Award for Voluntary Service! Due to Covid-19 restrictions still being in place last summer, the celebrations have been extended throughout the year.

Only last month did our Chair of Trustees, Ben, with our Operations and Relationships Manager, Carly, get to go to the celebratory Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. We are still highly honoured to have had our volunteers work recognised in this way!

Throughout the week we will continue our celebrations of our volunteers by sharing our thanks, highlighting their amazing work and contributions to No5, as well what we will be doing to help support them to continue their work!

Keep an eye out on our social media @no5youngpeople and be sure to join in the celebrations!
