Counselling FAQs

• When you arrive at our front door, please come in and stand at our reception window.
• You’ll be asked your name, be buzzed in to the building by our receptionist, and shown to our waiting room.
• Your counsellor will meet you there and show you to the room you’ll be having your sessions in
• Your counsellor will explain a few things about your work together.
• And you can begin looking together at what you’d like to talk about.

Our counselling rooms are all designed to make people feel comfortable and relaxed, with comfy chairs, cushions and throws, a lamp, clock and side table.

Facing one another in separate chairs at a comfortable distance, allowing for personal space.

There is a low side table in our counselling rooms, usually alongside the chairs. They are useful for writing or other creative therapies, and we also display our leaflets on them.

Many of our counselling rooms have a window. Those that don’t still have a comfortable and airy feel

There are ceiling lights and a table or standing lamp in each room.

We don’t lock our doors during counselling sessions, but will use an ‘engaged’ sign on the door whilst your session takes place to avoid interruption.
