The school year is over and summer holidays have begun, however the end of one school year also brings the start of a new one in September. This new school year may involve leaving behind your primary or secondary school, starting GCSE’s or A-Levels, or maybe leaving school completely for a job or apprenticeship! This can lead many of us to feel nervous and stressed before we even start, so our Young Ambassadors wanted to share their advice with you!
Transitioning by its very definition is a very difficult thing for young people to come to terms with, but there are ways of coping with it to make it easier. Scientifically, it is common knowledge that young people especially struggle with change and difference from their considered norm. However, it doesn’t all have to be difficult, by looking after yourself taking your own time out, and doing self-care activities can often de-stress you and calm you down.
One thing we struggle with often is the transition between school and further education/jobs. However, there is no need to worry, as long as you take your time to self-care and de-stress you can have a balance between happiness and relaxation. My only advice when it comes to doing A-levels, Degrees, or a job is to make sure you choose something you feel passionate about and enjoy because otherwise it will make life very complicated and stress you out even more.
